Become an Umpire

There is a age limit at the Pakenham Stadium and their policy is that our umpires must be 14 years old. If you are close to 14 years old then please see below.

Firstly you will need to complete your rules of netball exam. To do this log into learning.netball.com.au

The Rules of Netball Theory Examination tests the basic rules of the game. There is a small cost of $12.50 that Netball Australia charge.

It is an online examination that is accessible all year. A certificate is generated for all candidates who achieve a pass (70% or above). Please save a copy for yourself and email us as copy please as this is used later on down the track. There is also a “Foundation for umpires” course also done online which we like completed within 2 months of starting your umpire journey with us.

It is highly recommended that prior to commencing this exam you read a copy of the Rules of Netball 2018 which you can download from the NV website or the free app on your phone “INF netball rules”

You must have Netball Victoria Membership for 2023.

If you decide to start umpiring you will be put on our waiting list … at the moment we do have a small waiting list for junior umpires, and once you complete your theory the quicker you go on the list.

Our trainee umpires would start umpiring our U9s & U11s on a Wednesday night and will have their own umpire developer with them courtside until they are deemed efficient enough move up.

Hope this helps and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at cardinia.life.netball@gmail.com
